Iyengar yoga is characterized by its attention to detail, precision and alignment in postures. Regular practice of asanas develops strength, mobility and stability. The props, under the guidance of a qualified teacher, enable students to do the asanas correctly hence minimizing the risk of injury and strain, and making the poses accessible to students of all ages and health conditions.
An early morning class gives students an opportunity to begin the day by centering the mind and body and setting an intention for the rest of the day. Typically we are stiffer in the morning so an early morning practice teaches us the most about our bodies. Come join me in this early morning class and start your day smiling!

When Sharmeen, a keen student of yoga for many years, first walked into an Iyengar class she knew she had come home. The practical, accessible to all, precise, and disciplined approach that Iyengar yoga offers resonates deeply with who she is. Her passion for Iyengar yoga, and her warmth and caring, are clearly reflected in her teaching. She encourages the students to challenge themselves and to be open to learning and self exploration. She is grateful for the opportunity to share the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar and her greatest reward is to observe the students develop in their poses and feel the wonderful effects of yoga in their daily lives. Sharmeen, a certified Iyengar teacher, has done her teacher training under Louie Ettling and continues to study with her. To further deepen her practice she regularly attends workshops with local and visiting international teachers.
