Eve Johnson – Iyengar Yoga
Eve Johnson is director of Yoga on 7th.
She fell in love with yoga in 1987 on a beach in Thailand. Back in Vancouver she took a friend's advice and started to study with Wende Davis. After 13 years as a committed student, and two years of apprenticeship with Gioia Irwin, she began teaching. She now has Jr. I Iyengar certification, and 15 years of teaching experience.
Eve writes a popular blog at myfiveminuteyoga.com, which offers friendly advice for building a home yoga practice. A journalist for 25 years before beginning to teach yoga, she knows from personal experience that no matter where you start, a steady practice can transform your body and mind.
She studies weekly with senior Iyengar teacher Ingelise Nherlan, and attends workshops with visiting Canadian and international teachers. In June 2015, she returned to Pune for a second month of study with the Iyengar family.
Siobhan Sloane-Seale – Iyengar Yoga
Siobhan Sloane-Seale has been studying yoga for the past 17 years. Her first yoga classes were in Winnipeg where she was introduced to Iyengar yoga. When she moved to Vancouver Siobhan explored many different kinds of yoga but after a long period of injury her desire to be healthy brought her back to studying the Iyengar method. Siobhan is a certified Iyengar yoga instructor with over 1300 hours of teacher training. She is also a professional contemporary dancer and musician. She's been performing and studying dance for 24 years. Her teaching is grounded and playful with clear instructions. Corinne Skrobot – Iyengar Yoga
Corinne Skrobot began her study of Iyengar yoga in 2002. She received her introductory certification in June 2009, studying under Louie Ettling and Ingelise Nherland. She completed her Junior Intermediate level of certification in January 2015. Corinne is a registered Physiotherapist (1990) who has practiced in Vancouver since 1991. Her dedicated study of Iyengar yoga has paralleled her continued professional coursework in physiotherapy and Osteopathic bodywork; she uses this experience in her yoga classes.
Corinne teaches Iyengar yoga classes at Yoga on 7th in East Vancouver and offers yoga/anatomy workshops at Trimetrics Physiotherapy clinic in North Vancouver. She continues to study with experienced certified Iyengar teachers and regularly attends workshops with international Senior instructors.
Corinne brings her passion and expertise to the studio in her yoga classes and is committed to encouraging students to experience the beneficial effects of yoga toward their own healing.
Meghan Goodman – Iyengar Yoga
Meghan Goodman is a yoga instructor, professional dance artist and new mother. She began practicing yoga in 1998 and has been teaching since 2006. Seeking more information on how to work with a wider range of students, Meghan began her studies of Iyengar yoga in 2008, and with the guidance of Louie Ettling, completed the Intro 2 teaching certification in 2013. For Meghan, Iyengar yoga has become the steady path to finding stability and space in the body, the antidote to a physically demanding and busy lifestyle, and a method for moving deeper in the practice with intelligence and care. Sharmeen Jacobs – Iyengar Yoga
When Sharmeen, a keen student of yoga for many years, first walked into an Iyengar class she knew she had come home. The practical, accessible to all, precise, and disciplined approach that Iyengar yoga offers resonates deeply with who she is. Her passion for Iyengar yoga, and her warmth and caring, are clearly reflected in her teaching. She encourages the students to challenge themselves and to be open to learning and self exploration. She is grateful for the opportunity to share the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar and her greatest reward is to observe the students develop in their poses and feel the wonderful effects of yoga in their daily lives. Sharmeen, a certified Iyengar teacher, has done her teacher training under Louie Ettling and continues to study with her. To further deepen her practice she regularly attends workshops with local and visiting international teachers. Sharmeen is Iyengar certified at the Introductory 2 level.
Raelene Hodgson – Vinyasa
Raelene Hodgson explored her love of movement through a degree in kinesiology at UBC. Yearning for connection in the city, she found yoga as a place to ground down and started exploring the mind, breath, spirit and emotion in a different context. She completed her 240-hour RYT training in Mexico with Anna Laurita and has since completed a mentorship with Suzanne Slocum-Gori, 39-hour Yin Teacher Training with Danielle Hoogenboom, and a Yoga for Youth Training with Ryan Leir. When she isn't teaching Yoga, Raelene is busy completing her Masters in counselling at UBC, working in youth addictions services and spending time outside rock climbing and mountain biking.
Lidija Martinović Rekert – Vijnana Yoga
After graduating from the University of Belgrade and receiving extensive training in counseling psychology, Lidija immigrated to Canada from war-torn Yugoslaviain 1995. Initially working as a refugee officer and settlement counselor, Lidija became a full time yoga and meditation teacher as well as a Yoga Therapist. She iscertified, experienced Yoga teacher, as well as teacher trainer.
She has completed more than 1,500 hours of yoga and meditation trainingincluding 800 hrs in Vijnana Yoga with advanced practitioner Gioia Irwin and Orit Sen Gupta, and has a life commitment to study and practice Dharma.
Herpersonal practice is less “doing” and more “un-doing”, and making room for “living” Yoga. She aspires to cultivate this in her teachings, and in her service to others, society and the environment.
Bethan Stewart – Mothers Unfolding
Bethan Stewart is a mother of three busy boys, a Mothers Unfolding and Mama Renew mentor and a Birthing from Within birth doula and mentor.
After the life changing experience of becoming a mother, she felt compelled to change her career path and to connect with other parents, build community and work intensely in the field of birth and parenting.
Mothers Unfolding and Mama Renew are close to her heart because they provide a space in which mothers can be profoundly supported by each other.
Lucie Lambert – SunDo Taoist Practice
Lucie Lambert is certified Sundo teacher. She joined the Sundo community in 1988, worked her way through the levels, started instructing in 1994 and became a teacher in 2007.
Since then she has taught all levels and has brought students up from beginner to black belt level in Sundo practice.
Among other distinctions, Lucie was invited to be a presenter at the International Sundo Conference held in Korea in 2008.
Marlene Amado – Pilates
Marlene Amado is a Pilates teacher who has been teaching movement for more than 14 years. Her inspiration comes from a curiosity to understand the intelligence of the body as well as the connection between body and mind.
Marlene is a certified Classical Pilates teacher and is affiliated with the Physiotherapy Association of BC.
Her classes are designed to increase spinal mobilization, address

Tannis Hugill RCC, RDT, BC-DMT
With a Masters degree in Somatic Psychology and a Masters of Fine Arts in Dance and Theatre, Tannis Hugill is a registered B.C. Clinical Counsellor, board certified Dance-movement therapist, registered Drama Therapist, Spiritual Director and creator of sacred theatre. She brings almost thirty years’ experience of healing through the arts to her work with individuals, groups, adolescents and adults, especially those with eating problems, addictions and trauma.
In Vancouver she has a private therapy practice, and is an out-patient therapist for the Chopra Addiction and Wellness Centre. She also leads workshops in Authentic Movement, Ecstatic Body Postures, and Moving Prayer.
Bless Leone - Alignment Flow
Bless Leone is a Yoga Alliance registered E-RYT 200 instructor, trained in Anusara Yoga with Chris Chavez and Vinyasa Yoga with Clara Roberts-Oss. Bless brings a wealth of practical knowledge to her teaching which focuses on intelligent, creative sequencing, postural alignment and the breath. She includes the use of props, modifications, verbal adjustments and demonstrations to create an accessible class where new students feel empowered and returning students feel challenged.
